Exercises #
This course has (almost) weekly hands-on exercises. These exercises have been chosen to supplement the concepts we learn in class and give students hands-on experience with the concepts, often using real tools.
Exercises are due every Friday night at 11:59pm. Unless noted otherwise, you should submit two files to Gradescope:
- A PDF of your lab report (not available for all labtainer exercises)
- The
.labfile
We will primarily be looking at the lab reports. However, Labtainers has rudimentary auto-grading for of the .lab files for some exercises, and we will incorporate the results of the auto-grading. Hint: look into Labtainer’s checkwork command.

Homework #
This course has two “real” homework assignments. The homework assignments consist of written questions and are due the Friday before Exam 1 and Exam 2. The questions are designed to help students prepare for the exams. The homework assignments will be posted before all content has been covered in lectures. Students are encouraged to begin the homework assignments early and ask questions during class or office hours.
The first assignment (Homework 0) is simply an agreement to the ethics statement on the course syllabus.
All homeworks must be submitted to Gradescope in PDF format. If your Gradescope account is not activated yet, click on the Gradescope link on the course’s Moodle and it should link your Gradescope access.
